Microsoft is preparing a new meeting around Windows. The Redmond company has just sent invitations to the press for an event to be held on October 7, 2026 in San Francisco, whose program should revolve in particular around Windows, Surface devices and local artificial intelligence.
For the occasion, Microsoft will bring together great people on stage. Satya Nadella, head of Microsoft, will be accompanied by Pavan Davuluri, who heads Windows and Surface, but also by Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA.
Windows, Surface and RTX Spark in the program
In its invitation, Microsoft says it wants to discuss how “local AI will shape the next chapter of the PC.” The firm also promises to present its latest innovations around Windows, NVIDIA RTX Spark, Surface and, more broadly, the PC ecosystem.
The presence of Jensen Huang already gives some clues about what Microsoft intends to present to us. Microsoft and NVIDIA have been working for several months on RTX Spark, NVIDIA’s new platform designed in particular to run heavy workloads linked to artificial intelligence directly on PCs.
We could also talk about the Surface Laptop Ultra again. Unveiled earlier this year and equipped with an NVIDIA RTX Spark chip, the PC does not yet have a price or release date. Therefore, Microsoft could take advantage of its event to tell us a little more, although nothing has been confirmed in this regard yet.
And Windows in all this?
This is undoubtedly the most mysterious part of the event. Microsoft explicitly cites Windows in its invitation, but does not currently provide any details about the planned announcements.
Therefore, we will have to wait a few more weeks to find out what the company has in store for us. One thing is certain: this will be the first major event dedicated to Windows since May 2024, when Microsoft introduced the first Copilot+ PCs.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 10 am in San Francisco, or at 7 pm in mainland France.
