Marvel Television has made it official Zodiaca new spy series planned for Disney+ in 2028. Presented during the New York Comic Con, the project will go into production in London in the spring of 2027 and should launch its casting in the coming weeks, but the studio is still keeping its characters and plot a secret.
A Marvel series surrounded by secrets
The ad is deliberately minimalist. Marvel unveiled a title, release window and logo, without naming a writer, director or cast member. Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, however, confirmed that the project would be a spy thriller and that production would begin. in spring 2027 in London. The series is announced on Disney+ for 2028.
The choice of the word Zodiac opens several avenues, without confirming any of them. In Marvel comics, this name has notably designated different criminal organizations inspired by the twelve astrological signs, as well as an artifact linked to their powers. The logo presented in New York contains, according to Winderbaum, several hidden clues and a visual reference to the SHIELD universe. However, it would be premature to deduce the casting or the heroes: the studio has not yet officially associated any characters with the series.
The announcement published by Marvel specifies that the first names of the casting must be communicated in the coming weeks. This timeline leaves the project with approximately a year of filming and post-production before its release window.
A new project in a tighter program
Zodiac arrives in a Marvel television landscape that is less crowded than at the beginning of the Disney+ era. The studio has reduced the number of series produced simultaneously and is now opting for more spaced seasons. Therefore, this announcement represents more than just a name added to a long list: it is the first new live-action project officially presented since several calendar revisions.
At the same time, Marvel continues to exploit its already established characters. VisionQuest has just revealed a new trailer ahead of its release, while Daredevil: Born Again is set to end with its third season. Zodiac could allow the studio to return to the record of conspiracies and clandestine operations, territory already explored by Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Secret Invasion, without a narrative link to these works having yet been announced.
Filming in London gives no further clues to the story. The British capital regularly hosts Marvel productions for studios, technical equipment and sets, even when the action takes place elsewhere.
