EasyJet will propose for the first time an Internet connection with Wi-Fi on board its aircraft. The British airline has chosen Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite service, with deployment planned from the first half of 2027 and generalization planned for early 2028.

Wi-Fi will equip EasyJet planes with Starlink
The installation will affect the company’s Airbus A320, A320neo and A321neo. The schedule will extend over several months, until early 2028. EasyJet has not yet specified which aircraft will be equipped first. The price of Internet access is also yet to be defined: the company has not announced either a free service, a payment plan, or a possible inclusion in certain prices.
The connection should allow passengers to surf the web, watch streaming videos and play online games from their smartphone, tablet or computer. EasyJet also offers travel-related services: flight status query, weather information, transportation and attractions at the destination. Technology could finally make it possible to order products from the in-flight menu directly from your seat.
Air France already offers a similar service
EasyJet joins a movement that is already dedicated to air transport. Air France began rolling out Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi in 2025. The service is free in all cabins of equipped aircraft, with connection through a Flying Blue account. It allows you to consult sites, watch movies and series in streaming or play online. The company plans to progressively extend this technology to its entire fleet.
Other airlines have also adopted Starlink or begun implementation. From 2025, AirBaltic offers free access on its equipped Airbus A220-300. Aer Lingus launched its service in March 2026, with a gradual expansion of its fleet, while Iberia flew its first equipped aircraft in June. Lufthansa and United Airlines also use this system on some of their aircraft. Access conditions vary depending on the company: some require connection to their loyalty program.
Starlink uses a constellation of low-orbit satellites, designed to provide a fast connection with reduced latency. This makes more demanding uses possible than simple messaging, including video conferencing, collaborative work, and streaming. It remains to be seen whether easyJet will offer this experience at no additional cost, like Air France on its equipped aircraft, or whether it will make it a paid option. No price has been communicated at this time.
