The major Orange outage that took place on October 21, 2026 deprived the network of customers of the historical operator and Sosh. He has already announced that he will double the Internet fee to apologize, but it turns out that it is also possible to receive financial compensation in the form of a 10 euro discount on the bill.

Even though Orange announced that doubling the Internet quota for a month was automatically available to subscribers, the discount must be claimed on the bill.

On social media, several people indicated that they had contacted Orange or Sosh customer service and were able to get a discount for their next bill. The amount varies depending on the customer and those with an Orange package seem to be better off than people with a Sosh package. Some were entitled to 10 euros, others to 2 euros and others to a 1 euro discount. Age, price of the original package, and other elements affect the discount amount.

How to get a discount on your Orange/Sosh bill after the blackout

As stated above, this financial compensation is not automatic and you must claim it yourself. If you are an Orange customer, you can contact customer service at 3900 or do so from customer area EITHER the orange and me app. If you have a Sosh package, you must resort to online support and ask to speak to a human advisor instead of the default chatbot.

All that remains is to explain that you are not interested in having double the Internet because it will not be useful and ask for financial compensation. The advisor will then make a discount on your next bill. The maximum amount seems to be 10 euros.

As a reminder, the October 21, 2026 Orange Blackout began around 11:20 am and ended in the evening.
