Orange launches its Home Cinema Decoder, a TV decoder that integrates four speakers designed with Bang & Olufsen. Available today with Livebox Max, it supports Dolby Atmos and can accommodate two wireless rear speakers.

An Orange TV set-top box with Dolby Atmos-compatible home theater
The decoder combines a bass-oriented woofer, two side speakers intended to expand the soundstage, and a center channel dedicated to dialogue. Sagemcom manufactures the case, while Bang & Olufsen is involved in the design and acoustic tuning. Orange also announces support for 4K, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision for the image.
Orange is also developing the software part. This model becomes the first Orange decoder marketed in France with Android TV, with access to the Google Play Store and streaming applications. Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, Paramount+ and Canal+ are among the supported services. The box also retains live monitoring and cloud recording functions.
Orange is also committed to simplified installation: a single HDMI cable is enough to connect the decoder to the television, while the connection to the Livebox can be made via Wi-Fi. A single remote control controls everything. The box can finally function as a connected speaker and receive music from a smartphone.

Two wireless speakers can complement the four built-in speakers. They are placed at the back of the room and use Dolby Atmos FlexConnect to automatically adapt their operation to the configuration of the room, without imposing a precise location. Orange becomes the first operator in the world to offer this technology.
The concept is directly reminiscent of the Freebox Delta Player Devialet, launched in 2018 and removed from the free catalog in 2023. Orange, however, takes a different approach: the new box approximates the format of a classic TV decoder and is integrated into the Livebox Max subscription instead of being sold as a stand-alone audio equipment.
Available now, here is the price.
The Livebox Max offer It costs 47.99 euros per month for a year for a new customer, then 57.99 euros per month, with a 12-month commitment. The decoder has an activation cost of 50 euros, to which is added 40 euros of change cost for an existing Orange customer. The two rear speakers cost an additional 80 euros. Orange thus uses its highest offer to distribute equipment that seeks to give a new use to the physical decoder, while the operator allows access to Orange TV directly from many connected televisions from 2025.
The decoder and speakers finally adopt an ecological design approach with 100% recycled and recyclable plastics and fabrics.
