Marvel took advantage of the first game of the baseball World Series to reveal new images from Avengers: Judgment Day with an advance. This promotional operation associates the Russo brothers’ next film with five Major League Baseball (MLB) players less than two months before its theatrical release, scheduled for December 16.

Marvel mixes the Avengers with baseball stars
For this campaign, Marvel and MLB brought together baseball players Bryce Harper, Freddie Freeman, Jacob Misiorowski, Junior Caminero and Randy Arozarena in a promotional video. The device plays with the encounter between the world of baseball and that of superheroes, with images linked to a baseball scene in which the Fantastic Four participate. The studio thus chose a major sporting event (at least in the United States) to reach an audience that does not necessarily follow the news of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The broadcast took place during the first game of the championship finals, which pits the Milwaukee Brewers against the Tampa Bay Rays. MLB’s initial announcement promised an exclusive trailer for the film, without specifying in advance the length of the footage or its exact content. The images were finally revealed during the broadcast.
Doctor Doom at the center of a multiversal threat
This new trailer is part of the film’s promotional campaign trailer. Robert Downey Jr. plays Victor von Doom, the antagonist who must bring together characters from several Marvel universes. Previous trailers (here and here) and additional scenes shown during the return ofAvengers: Endgame In the cinema it has already been suggested that the character could cause collisions between different realities.
The cast includes in particular Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie and Tom Hiddleston, but also the actors of the Fantastic Four and several figures from old films. X-Men. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden and Rebecca Romijn reprise their respective roles. The film, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, focuses on the meeting of these different generations of heroes who face a common threat.
With a release scheduled for December 16 in theaters, Avengers: Judgment Day enters a crucial phase of its promotion. Broadcasting during the World Series allows Disney and Marvel to benefit from the visibility of a major sporting event in the United States, as well as campaigns aimed at Marvel fans. The next Avengers movie should pave the way for Avengers: Secret Warsscheduled for December 2027.
